Acef Royal Advisor to Prince Obyr. Actually a vampire under Kheegan’s command. Slain in part XXVII.
Ando This red-headed Arasan wizard apprentice was bound for Scolia by way of Marn Keep when his transport was sunk and he was taken captive by the sahuagin. Since his escape from the underwater city, he has become close friends with Targus and Okfaust during their many adventures.
Arnik Valster VII, King Dwarf king of Orlishuz.
Bart Loyal and honest, this man serves as Marshal of the forces at Castle Targus. His whereabouts after the fall of Harrenshire are unknown.
Bupgopgoorg, King Kuo-toan ruler of the City of the Glass Pool. Slain in part XX.
Carmeneren This kindly old deep gnome is a powerful priestess of Caludran Smoothhands and leader of the svirfneblin settlement under Harrenshire.
Cham A Halfling innkeeper in Moonstair.
D’lar A friend of Sylvani, this elf delivers a gift from the dragon to Targus on his birthday. He joins Targus’ company on many adventures until he dies jumping down a well in part XXVI.
Darbeel Emissary of King Maryth II of Scolia. Also his nephew.
Dax The sole survivor of Etherand’s adventuring party. Now a drunken sot.
Etherand Son of Theyrund’s ruler. Reportedly slain by trolls while defending Moonstair.
Fazhough Leader of the gnoll clan that occupied Backbreaker Keep. Slain by Targus in part IV.
Frandris This engineer from Palamon accompanies Targus in a daring blockade run to Marn Keep to deliver a message from Aras (part I). Frandris shows up later with a group of workers to repair Backbreaker Keep (part V). He eventually serves Targus as his castellan until he is tortured to death by the vampire Kheegan.
Gaelrek The leader of a mercenary band the party encounters in the glacial home of the frost giants.
Gargandolar A silver dragon. Silvani’s mate, slain by Ule Inur.
Geron, Sir General in the Scolite Army during the Goblinoid War. Former commander of the famed Gold Plains Company.
Goran Lalas, Admiral Targus meets Lalas briefly (in part III) and tours his remarkable ship – the Metal Kraken. Most say the Admiral is the real power behind the Doge of Palamon, and other rumors speculate he is the secret leader of the Council of Ten.
Grimshale An elder white dragon and ancient foe of Kathewan. The heroes defeat him in Part XXXII and give his scales to Kathewan’s spirit, enabling the repair of the Scales of Kathewan.
Groznyj A bloodthirsty brute who supplies the brawn to Haragswald’s band. He steals Morin’s sword, but later loses it to Prentys in a game of dice. (Slain in part XI)
Gugnarson, Jarl King of the frost giants. The party negotiates with him for passage to Kathewan’s tomb.
Hala Grimsdottir Daughter of the former Snow Leopard clan chief. Now wife of Kjern and Queen of Vrecha.
Handy Fogburtle The Halfling proprietor of Harrenshire’s Tap Tent.
Haragswald This small saturnine man leads the suspicious group of kidnappers who capture Polonus. (Slain in part XI)
Hargash An agent of Ule Inur who convinces the Vrechans to join the Lich War. Exposed by the party as a demon and slain by Kjern in a duel in Part XXXIII.
Hurlgaboorg, Duke One of three dukes in the City of the Glass Pool. He gives the party an especially hard time, but is deafeated in part XIX.
Ilsenzenden Illithid advisor to King Bupgopgoorg. Slain in part XX.
Infyrana A powerful red dragon slain by the party in the mines of Orlishuz.
Ishbel Marceen, Lady Perhaps the wealthiest entrepreneur in Harrenshire, she resides on a sprawling farm just outside of town. She has a great love for horses, which she breeds, trains, and sells.
Jelenneth This beautiful young woman is Frandris’ apprentice; she disappears with a group of workers while attempting to map out the caverns below Harrenshire quarry. Still missing.
Kathewan Was a legendary Champion of Inuria and renowned smith from an age long past. The party frees his spirit by slaying Grimshale, the dragon that killed him, and giving the dragon’s hide to the spirit to complete his greatest creation, the Scales of Kathewan.
Kelana Dhoram This woman is Mayor of Moonstair.
Keltus, Sir Sir Rabe’s lieutenant who gives Targus his ring and helm after being mortally wounded aboard ship (part III). Targus is appointed in his stead to lead an investigation into the origins of the goblynoid army.
Kheegan Bodyguard of Prince Obyr. Actually an elder vampire lord. Slain in part XXVII.
Kjern A Vrechan mercenary.
Maryth II, King The ruler of Scolia is a grey-bearded man who has ruled justly over the lands settled by his father. The Maryths have labored long and hard to make Scolia a power in the Midlands, and he now he sees that all in jeopardy as invaders crash upon the very gates of his capitol.
Morin A scout and messenger from Scolia who arrives in New Harrenshire guarding the treasury caravan (part X).
Obyr, Prince The only son of King Maryth II, heir to the throne of Scolia. Secretly a vampire with grand plans for the future. Slain in part XXVII.
Okfaust A prisoner of the sahuagin, this agent of the Green Brotherhood shares a cell with Targus in the undersea city. Half-deranged from his long imprisonment out of sight of sun and sky he complains of the taste of fish, his only sustenance for long weeks of captivity. After escaping the sea-devils, Okfaust has accompanied Targus and Ando on many adventures as a companion and friend.
Oris A long-dead Champion of Inuria. Original wearer of the Mantle of the Void.
Polonus A young cleric of Agan who founds a temple in New Harrenshire.
Prentys Member of Haragswald’s band of slavers. Captured and questioned by Targus and company. (Later released and banished from Harrenshire in part XI).
Rabe Hinton, Sir Knight of Scolia; commands the forces of Marn Keep. King Maryth II’s bastard son.
Ranchefus An evil priest of Emptietine involved in kidnapping and banditry (slain in part VII)
Reginold Captain of the Guard at Castle Targus.
Rualiss An eladrin emissary from the Feywild city of Ceduilion who provides the party with sage advice.
Scar, (Ule Inur) An evil lich who threatens the Midlands.
Silverpaw After Targus and company freed him from captivity at the hands of gnolls occupying Backbreaker Keep (part IV) this huge intelligent wolf has made frequent appearances to defend the companions.
Skalmad The Troll King. Recovers the Eye of Moran and the Stone Cauldron, ancient artifacts of Vard’s troll empire and uses them to cause trouble in the Moonstair region. Slain in part XXII.
Skodris Aide de Camp at Castle Targus.
Snagger Freed from orcish captivity by Targus (part VIII) and nicknamed for his snaggletooth; this gruff but able dwarf agrees to join Castle Targus’ men-at-arms, for a fee of course.
Stagenon, Lord Rather than participate in the intricate politics of the weakened Tal’Hathilas, this former Baron has chosen to form his own independent city-state. An alliance with Palamon has aided in strengthening the defenses of Aras’ critical strategic location at the mouth of the Ryma River. Stagenon mobilizes Aras to assist the Midlanders in the war. Targus is a part of this mobilization.
Stevus & Frankron Soldiers in Targus’ platoon defending the docks at Marn Keep (killed by sahuagin in part III).
Sylvani This silver dragon befriends Targus and his companions as they cooperate to destroy a mutual enemy, the lich Scar (part V, VI). She often takes the form of an elf maiden with long silver hair.
Targandolar A young silver dragon, son of Sylvanthilaria. Sylvani named him to honor both Targus and her deceased mate, Gargandolar.
Targus A swordsman from Aras.
Valsharane An exarch of Agan.
Vard An ancient legend accounts that this troll lord ruled over a troll empire.
Verdais, Baron Appointed by Prince Obyr to rule over Harrenshire in place of Targus. Actually a vampire. Slain in part XXVII.
Xarshotz An undead beholder. Ancient foe of Oris and the Champions of Inuria.
Zanticor An illithid mastermind that resides in the City of the Glass Pool (defeated by the party in part XVII)
Zoltan A green dragon who lairs in the swamplands west of Moonstair.
